  • Research Associate – Protein Chemistry Description: BioVision, Inc., a privately held Life Science company, develops and offers world-wide, a variety of products including assay kits, antibodies, recombinant proteins & enzymes, and other innovative research tools for studying Apoptosis, Metabolism, Cell Proliferation, Cellular Stress, Cell Damage and Repair, Diabetes, Obesity and Metabolic Syndrome, Stem Cell Biology, Gene Regulation, Signal Transduction, etc. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to work in our production department as a Research Associate – Protein Chemistry. Position Summary The Research Associate will perform E. coli plasmid purification, mammalian cell protein expression and purification, protein based assays including electrophoresis, western blot, ELISA and enzymatic and cell-based activity assay, analyze data and interpret results.Essential Duties and Responsibilities    ●  Perform various types of DNA cloning including sub cloning, mini- and maxi-prep, etc.    ●  Carry out small and large scale mammalian cell culture and protein expression.    ●  Perform immunoassay (e.g., ELISA, WB), enzymatic assay and cell-based assay.    ●  Carry out routine sample preparation, protein purification and protein analyses experiments.    ●  Work within the parameters of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).    ●  Support various laboratory functions including general equipment and inventory, etc.    ●  Keep detailed written records. The Ideal candidate will also possess the following knowledge/skills:   ● Familiar with the use of standard laboratory equipment (pH meter, centrifuge, pipettor, stirrers, plate reader, etc.)    ● Responsible and strong attention to details.    ● Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks    ●  Strong work ethic and excellent time management skills    ●  Excellent documentation skills and ability to follow established procedures    ●  Strong communication and interpersonal skills Education and/or Experience: B.S./M.S. degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, or related fields, with at least 2+ years of bench work experiences in molecular biology or biochemistry lab.Company benefits package:   ●  2+ year bench work experiences in molecular biology or biochemistry lab.    ●  Attention to details and ability to generate reliable data.    ●  Strong work ethic and team-oriented.    ●  Established cell culture techniques and other basic lab skills.    ●  Hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture and protein purification is a plus.
