Our ProgramAt Novo Nordisk, interns will have the opportunity to kick-start their careers by working closely with experienced industry professionals and gaining valuable, hands-on, full-time work experience. For ten weeks, beginning June 3 rd, interns will be immersed in the environment of a global pharmaceutical company and contribute to the line of business by providing sustainable and meaningful project work. What You Will GainOur Early Talent Summer Internship Program will challenge you to be dynamic, efficient and innovative. Novo Nordisk’s workplace will allow you to gain exposure to a real-life corporate environment while providing you with hands-on working experiences. Scope of PositionDuring this internship you will have the opportunity to explore the mechanisms of action of a recent human clinical trial in Type I Diabetes using a combination therapy of a beta cell supportive therapy and an immune cell modulator. Using techniques such as chip cytometry, you will work to identify immune cell markers that are affected during treatment versus a placebo control group. Chipcytometry technology, by Zellkraftwerk, allows cells to be loaded onto a negatively charged slide (ZellSafe chip). The positively charged cells bind to the surface of the slide. Using the imaging technology, cells are stained with fluorescently labeled antibodies (5 parameters possible at one time) and the image is processed into quantifiable data. The fluorophores are then photobleached and a new set of markers can be assessed. Using this technology, we can explore a broad range of biomarkers related to the treatment. The cells used in this study are direct from cryopreserved PBMC collected for analysis during the clinical trial. Qualifications
