Due to the enhanced focus on continuously improving the quality of care and outcomes the Neurosurgery Department has made a strategic decision to expand and modernize Neuro Critical Care Services. Currently Critical Care in the Neurosurgery ICU is provided by the individual neurosurgeon attending caring for their respective patients. We believe an enhanced focus on the unique aspects of Neuro patients and their Critical Care needs can create a model that will enhance and achieve best in class quality of care and outcomes. Additionally, this model and the resulting care focus, will help to enhance the reputation of Rutgers New Jersey Medical School (NJMS), The Neurological Institute of New Jersey (NINJ) and UH. Accordingly, The NJMS Departments of Neurosurgery and Neurology are seeking a Fellowship trained Critical Care (Intensivist) Neurologist.
This Faculty member along with another recruitment of a Neuro Interventionist/Intensivist will become the core Faculty members directing and treating Neuro Critical Care patients at UH. We look forward to this service growing and enhancing the services of the NINJ in addition to further synergetic growth of the neurological program from other planned Faculty recruitments. It is the NJMS Neurological Surgery Department’s desire hire a Neurologist who is Fellowship trained as an Intensivist (Critical Care Specialist) at the Assistant Professor level. The Faculty Member would support to assist and develop Neuro Critical Care Services University Hospital including covering (nonintervention) Stroke Call for two weeks out of every 3 months (8 weeks per year).
