Assistant Professor, Lake Campus Education (Agriculture) (Revised)

Job Summary/Basic Function:

The successful candidate will be expected to teach and develop courses in entry level and advanced agricultural areas with a focus on livestock production related to poultry, dairy, swine, and beef. Courses may include (but are not limited to): Introduction to Animal Science, Animal Nutrition, Animal Physiology, Animal Health, and Livestock Management. The faculty will be responsible to engage with students and related activities through agriculture-related clubs, livestock judging, and research activities. The faculty should be actively involved in community agricultural activities, organizations, and assist with outreach efforts to educate area youth and adult livestock producers, as appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications

A Ph.D. (or D.V.M) in an Agriculture-field required by hire date. Applicant must have knowledge of animal science (primarily dairy, poultry, beef, and swine). An ability to teach a wide variety of courses ranging from Introductory Courses to Application Courses.

Preferred Qualifications

Successful university-level teaching experience; experience with instructional technology; experience working with students with diverse backgrounds and/or in diverse settings; evidence of scholarly potential and of service to the academic community.
