Summary of Job Duties and Responsibilities
This position is a full-time, 9-month predominantly teaching appointment in the Agribusiness Economics curriculum.
Responsibilities included: (1) providing high-quality undergraduate and/or graduate teaching in courses related to production economics, agriculture sales, and/or resource economics; (2) significantly contributing to the growth of undergraduate student majors through advising and mentorship; (3) development of a peer-reviewed Agribusiness research program; and (4) development of relationships with constituents in production agriculture.
Minimum Education Requirements
Ph.D. in Applied/Agricultural Economics/Agribusiness, with a strong emphasis in either production economics, upstream agribusiness marketing, and/or natural resource economics. ABD with a documented plan of completion by start date will be considered.
Minimum Experience and Skill Requirements
Outstanding oral and written communication skills are required. A willingness and ability to make significant contributions to interdisciplinary research and teaching is required.
Preferred Education and/or Experience Qualifications
Preferred experience includes involvement in agricultural industry either through private work, production experience, agribusiness consulting or through extension education. Further preference will be given to candidates who have had these experiences in the field of crop sciences and/or agronomy. Previous experience teaching at the university level is preferred. Online course development and teaching is also preferred.
